Eligibility
All individuals with current USA Judo, USJF or USJA memberships. Registration will be available at the event.
Registration starts at 9 am sharp.
Categories of Competition
Teams will be formed from the participants available. Some teams may be from one dojo but others will be a mix of participants from various dojos. There will be a number of categories for the team competition based upon the age, size, experience and sex of the participants who attend .We will be asking the Senseis to assist in grouping the participants.
Scoring System
Teams with the most wins will advance until we have a winner.
Awards
All participants will be receiving participant recognition. The first place teams will be receiving medals. In keeping with the tradition of judo tournaments held years ago in Hawaii, the team winners
Contest Rules
This will be an informal competition but we will be using the basic IJF rules
with the following modifications: Pre-1994 IJF rules for safety and out of bound area. No kansetsu-waza (armlocks) in divisions below black belt; No shime-waza (chokes) below 13 years of age.
Referees are asked to wear judo gis so that they may also participate in the practice
session. Referees with little experience are also encouraged to participate!
